Sailor Jack & The Siren is a short illustrated story by J Rolan, originally produced during her degree in 2023. Its dark, horror theme follows a foolish young sailor known as Jack falling into the arms of obsession when he hears a Siren's song. The romantic narrative takes a horrific turn when the predatory nature of the siren is revealed. The piece is currently being reworked, expanding on the original 10 illustrations with additional imagery, new layouts and revisions of the story.
